Cupcake Fantasy
ok, so I know a lot of you are going to read this blog post today and be like “WTF, why did you write that!?”. Well because this is my blog where I share my feelings, progress and today fantasies. Just had to share a very vivid fantasy I just had: I’m on a beach somewhere warm and tropical in a HOT bikini… and oh man do I look good! haha, at this point all my hard work...

Timing
Today I want to talk a little bit about timing. A lot of people have been asking me, how do you find the time? The truth is, it feels easy. Well there are lots of kinds of timing we could talk about, the right time in your life, time to shop, time to prepare, time to cook, time to work out, time to sleep, time to have a life, etc. Sounds like a lot, but honestly it seems like more effort to...

Spicy Tilapia Recipe
Hey all, I created this Tilapia recipe on Friday and I’ve been eating it all weekend. It’s so tasty and if you make it for others you’ll feel guilty when they thank you for spending all day cooking… cause it takes about 5 minutes (give or take a minute) to make. As you may or may not know Tilapia is a low saturated fat, low calorie, low carbohydrate and low...

Getting up again and walking tall
Well this week I let myself down. I am dedicated to this lifestyle change and everything that comes with it, but I have to admit that I had a slip up last night. This week was harder to resist cake than usual. I had my mother-in-law’s birthday, my boss’ birthday and my Dad’s birthday all in one week. There were big meals and cakes all around this week. For all of these meals I...

Investing in yourself
Last few work outs I’ve had have been amazing. I’ve noticed immediate differences in strong I felt and looked. It got me thinking about this time I was doing the Jillian Micheal’s videos 5 times a week for 3 months. I got so small!! I was so proud of myself, but then everything stopped. I kept working out, eating clean and I started to plateau. I got so frustrated that I gave up...

Happy Clean Out Your Fridge Day
Here are some things you could get rid of: Ketchup- while this sauce does not taste sugary and is good on a lot of things, the truth is it’s packed with sugar. Be honest with yourself, if you mashed up tomatoes would it taste like that? No, they add tons of sugar to get it to taste like that. Instead why don’t you get the ingredients for an awesome clean home made salsa. Or...

Clean + Lean Turkey Burgers
Hey all, I experimented with a new recipe over the weekend, cause as you know, I like my menu to be healthy and consistent, but still tasty and exciting. I saw a recipe for turkey burgers online last week and I decided to clean it up a little bit and eat it without a bun and a monster salad for dinner last night and it was super tasty! Here is what I did: -My diet requires that I eat 3.5-4oz...

Rise + Shine!
Morning!! By now you’re so used to checking my blog for new content that I’m sure the first thought in your head this morning was “I wondering what Liane is going to blog about today?”…. maybe not….. but a girl can dream. I’m having a great morning. I woke up, had my usual egg whites and oatmeal, headed to the gym (where I ran into a colleague signing up...

Clean shrimp Thai salad wraps with natural peanut...
This last week my cravings for food hit a new high, and just when I thought I was done with the cravings… I can’t stop thinking of Mexican and Thai food especially (I don’t even normally eat these kinds of foods).I decided I needed to find a way of satisfying this craving without going crazy on calories and extra fat.Today I experimented with Thai salad wraps, it was a huge...

What a smartie!
Today I want to address the popular topic of emotional eating. Usually when you hear about emotional eating you hear about people being stressed because they had a hard day at work, or a fight with someone, or they just feel bad about themselves. What I want to say is that you can also have emotional eating that is related to positive feelings, it’s still emotional eating. Over the last...

It snowed
Well it happened… it snowed. (I don’t hate snow, but I sure do hate the cold weather that it comes with). And while I love my raw veggies for all their nutrients, they are cold, which is not appealing on a cold day. When it snows all you want is something hot. So, I made my first ever soup. I’ve never ever made soup from scratch before, so if you’re thinking I’m...

Treats vs. Cheats
This past weekend I was feeling like I really needed to shake things up, that I deserved a treat. I decided rather than go for Thai food (my favorite food) that I now need to avoid because I love everything creamy, I would keep it healthy and experiment with a jumbo prawn salad. This decision was pretty much the best decision I ever made. (See photo above) I made this salad with: -Romaine...

Eating In Season
Eating in season vegetables in healthier than eating the same vegetable all year-round. You get to switch things up and because they are in season they’re going to be rich with nutrients (bonus!). Try these in season vegetables! Winter squash Squash is an excellent source of antioxidants and immune boosters. Beta-carotene converts to vitamin A in the body–essential for healthy eyes...

Inspiring Change
Inspiring others is one of the things I know makes me feel incredible. When I started this lifestyle change, it was just for me. Not to inspire others but to take the time in my life to make positive changes for myself. I even said to myself: Self, people are going to see you doing this and are going to try to make you feel guilty for spending less time with them and for changing yourself in a...

No Candy Halloween Blues
Last night was Halloween, my husband and I stayed home to hand out candy. I thought I was past the point of cravings, all day at work people had been offering me chocolate and all day I was able to proudly say “no thank you” (The whole time thing, good girl, keep it up!). Well being in my home, handing out candy was another thing, those darn fun size chocolate bars are so tempting....
